Adayu Launches Behavioural Addiction Clinic in Gurugram for Gaming, Gambling and Related Concerns

Gurugram, October 28, 2026: Adayu, Fortis Healthcare’s psychiatry and deaddiction hospital, has launched a Behavioural Addiction Clinic to provide assessment and care for concerns related to gaming, gambling, problematic digital and social media use, and other behavioural patterns affecting daily functioning.

Located at Adayu, Sector 38, Gurugram, the clinic will operate from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. It will provide psychiatric and psychological assessments, multidisciplinary treatment, individual and family therapy where appropriate, and lifestyle guidance tailored to individual needs.

The World Health Organization’s International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) recognises gaming disorder and gambling disorder as disorders due to addictive behaviours. Concerns about digital or social media use require individual assessment and should not automatically be considered an addiction.

For some individuals, difficulty controlling a behaviour and continuing it despite harm can affect sleep, emotional well-being, relationships, education, or work. Assessment helps clinicians understand the nature and severity of the concern, identify any associated mental health conditions, and recommend appropriate care.

Dr. Bishnu Panigrahi, Group Head – Medical Strategy and Operations, Fortis Healthcare, said, “Behavioural addictions and related concerns require careful assessment and an understanding of their impact on an individual’s daily life. Care may involve mental health professionals working together and, where appropriate, supporting family members. Early identification and interventions suited to individual needs can help address difficulties before they become more disruptive.”

Dr. Samir Parikh, Chairperson, Fortis National Mental Health Program and Adayu, said, “Not every instance of frequent gaming or digital use is an addiction. The concern arises when a person experiences difficulty controlling a behaviour and continues despite significant harm or disruption to daily life. A clinical assessment considers the individual’s circumstances and the effect on their functioning before determining the appropriate support. Families can also play an important role in recognising concerns and supporting care.”
